- S = selection coefficient

- Delta P = change in allele frequency or Delta P = S*(PQ)

- P = frequency of allele

- Q = frequency of 1-p

  2. Hey Peyton! Here are my definitions of the variables, I think we agree!
    Δp: change in frequency of an allele
    Selection coefficient (s): quantifies the advantage or disadvantage that one allele has over another allele, measured by whichever allele is able to successfully reproduce in individuals
    p: frequency of an allele
    q: 1 - p, the total population of the alleles minus the frequency of the p allele
